Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The company's Lattice OS is an AI-powered operating system that integrates thousands of data streams into a real-time 3D command and control center.
The Engineering Systems and Tools team designs, builds, and maintains internal systems, applications, and infrastructure across the enterprise. As an NX Developer, you will develop customizations, automation, and administrative tooling for the Siemens NX CAD environment that powers Anduril's mechanical and electrical engineering teams.
In this role, you will own the full lifecycle of internal developer tools, writing real code (NXOpen API, Python, C++) and working directly with engineers who depend on these systems. You will design, develop, and maintain NX Open API customizations to automate repetitive design tasks and enforce engineering standards. You will build and manage NX CAD administrative tools including templates, part families, reuse libraries, and check-mate rules to ensure consistency across the engineering organization. You will create custom NX dialogs, menus, and toolbars that streamline workflows for mechanical and electrical design teams, and develop journal-based automation scripts and NX Open applications to accelerate modeling, drafting, and BOM generation processes.
You will collaborate with PLM engineers to ensure seamless NX–Teamcenter integration in managed mode, including classification, naming rules, and revision workflows. You will work with a high-functioning team of solution engineers and cross-functional teams with an emphasis on finishing business-critical projects. You will also help troubleshoot NX technical issues including those related to deployment, site configuration, custom toolkit distribution, and ongoing end-user support.
Anduril values outcome-oriented thinking, customer focus, strong product sense, attention to detail, ownership, agility, first-principles thinking, and exceptional strategic problem-solving capabilities.
**REQUIREMENTS:**
- 5+ years of experience in a CAD development role, ideally in a fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environment
- Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical degree
- Proficiency in NX Open API development using one or more of: C/C++, Python, Java, or .NET (C#/VB.NET)
- Hands-on experience with NX CAD administration including templates, drafting standards, part families, reuse libraries, and role-based configurations
- Experience creating and maintaining NX journaling scripts and custom automation toolkits
- Strong understanding of CAD data management concepts including naming conventions, revision control, and BOM structures
- Ability to empathize with end-users, to turn needs into features, and to balance user experience with engineering constraints
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
- Experience with Siemens Teamcenter integration in NX managed mode, including classification, workflows, and naming rules
- Familiarity with NX Check-Mate for automated design validation and quality checks
- Experience with NX deployment and site-level configuration (ugii_env, custom directories, toolkit distribution)
- Knowledge of GRIP or KF (Knowledge Fusion) programming within NX
- Experience integrating CAD tools with downstream systems (PLM, ERP, MES, etc.)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, resolve user issues, and work autonomously to solve problems
