EVERSANA is seeking a National Director of Field Medical Affairs to lead ophthalmology (retinal indications) medical strategy and field execution. This is a strategic leadership role overseeing a team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) engaged in peer-to-peer scientific exchange with healthcare professionals, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and professional societies around retinal therapeutics.
Key Responsibilities:
MSL Leadership & Development: Recruit, retain, and develop a diverse, high-performing MSL team. Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management including annual reviews, professional development planning, and succession planning. Conduct regular field visits and coaching to ensure territory management excellence and data fluency.
Strategic Planning & Execution: Design and implement field-based medical strategy aligned with product scientific imperatives and brand plans. Establish team goals and objectives in collaboration with client and EVERSANA leadership. Maintain deep understanding of therapeutic strategy and market dynamics (treatment strategies, competitors, pending therapies, payor dynamics).
KOL & HCP Engagement: Oversee KOL/HCP planning and implementation at regional and national levels. Ensure MSL team functions as trained scientific experts engaging healthcare leaders in clinical, scientific, and research-based knowledge exchange. Engage with professional societies, patient advocacy groups, and value-based institutions focused on nAMD treatment.
Field Insights & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collect and analyze field insights through surveys and CRM systems. Translate field medical execution into actionable intelligence for internal stakeholders. Implement metrics and insights reporting to update leadership on execution and outcomes.
Scientific Expertise & Training: Maintain clinical knowledge of designated therapeutic areas and broad market awareness. Identify training gaps and secure clinical experts to support team development. Ensure team data fluency and scientific knowledge standards.
The ideal candidate brings field-based medical affairs experience, ophthalmology/retinal expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on field engagement.
