Baseten is seeking an exceptional Motion Designer to define and evolve the motion language for the Baseten brand. Baseten powers mission-critical inference for leading AI companies like Cursor, Notion, Abridge, and Writer, recently raising $1.5B in Series F funding.
In this defining role on the brand design team, you will shape motion across product launches, social video, out-of-home campaigns, events, web, and experimental brand work. This is not a role executing against an existing system—you'll help define and build the motion system from the ground up, push it into new territories, and set the bar for motion craft across the company.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define and evolve Baseten's motion language and visual identity
- Create high-craft motion work across product launches, social, campaigns, web, events, and out-of-home
- Concept and produce video content that makes technical products feel compelling and accessible
- Think at every scale, from five-second social clips to Times Square takeovers
- Partner with brand designers to bring identity systems, typography, illustration, and product storytelling to life through motion
- Experiment with new formats, tools, techniques, and emerging technology
- Build scalable motion systems and principles
- Work closely with product and marketing teams to make launches feel like moments
- Raise the bar for motion craft across all Baseten outputs
You should have an exceptional portfolio demonstrating high-level motion, visual design, and craft. Strong fundamentals in typography, composition, pacing, sound, and storytelling are essential—not just animation technique. You can own projects end-to-end from concept through storyboarding, design, animation, and final production. You have range across brand systems, product storytelling, campaigns, and experimental work, with strong judgment about when to be simple and precise versus when to push boundaries. You're enthusiastic about technical products, can communicate complex ideas without generic AI visuals, and want to help build a brand rather than just execute against one.
