Saronic Technologies is seeking a Mission Operations Specialist to serve as the critical link between autonomous surface vessels (ASVs) and DoD customers. This role combines technical field support, mission planning, and customer relationship management for cutting-edge maritime defense platforms.
You will plan and execute ASV missions, provide on-site technical support during integration and operations, and coordinate projects and programs from concept through delivery. Primary responsibilities include:
- On-site technical support and troubleshooting for DoD partners during product integration, commissioning, and ongoing operations
- System integration and interoperability testing between ASVs and customer infrastructure
- Customer training, documentation development, and knowledge transfer
- Remote diagnostics and technical support via communication tools and remote access
- Field testing, data collection, and performance assessment with feedback to engineering teams
- Mission planning with route optimization, environmental analysis, and risk mitigation
- Real-time ASV operations monitoring, sensor data analysis, and contingency management
- Compliance with regulatory requirements, DoD policies, and safety protocols
- Travel coordination and logistics for on-site customer visits
- Data analysis and comprehensive mission reporting with actionable insights
This is a high-travel role (up to 80%) requiring frequent domestic and international visits to customer and partner locations. You will act as a technical liaison between DoD customers and Saronic internal teams, managing expectations and ensuring mission requirements are met.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; minimum 3 years field support or customer-facing technical experience with complex systems; demonstrated project coordination and leadership; valid driver's license; strong organizational and communication skills. Physical requirements include ability to swim and tread water, lift 75 lbs., and spend extended periods on water. Prior Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience is a plus.
