CHAOS Industries is a defense technology company founded in 2022 and backed by $1 billion in funding from investors including 8VC, Accel, and Valor Equity Partners. The company develops multi-product defense solutions powered by Coherent Distributed Networks (CDN), serving warfighters, commercial air operators, and border protection teams.
The Mission Execution Lead role is responsible for driving CHAOS' growth across the United States by aligning technical capabilities with the operational needs of military and commercial customers. You will lead high-impact engagements end-to-end—opening doors, shaping requirements, securing commitments, and guiding post-award implementation. Success depends on staying close to the customer, present in their environment, and engaged at every stage of the mission.
Key responsibilities include:
• Understand and translate customer needs: Seek out opportunities, build trust in the customer's environment, and translate military and commercial customer needs into clear, actionable requirements for CHAOS. Serve as the customer's voice inside CHAOS and CHAOS' voice in front of the customer, ensuring alignment and unified execution.
• Execute end-to-end delivery: Coordinate and plan every phase of engagement—from initial site surveys and environmental assessments, to developing and delivering tailored customer training, to running controlled demonstrations and full-scale operational exercises. Anticipate requirements, eliminate friction, and ensure seamless, confident deployment of CHAOS capabilities.
• Deep product and mission knowledge: Operate on CHAOS' front line with a thorough understanding of technology, capabilities, and internal resources. Align them precisely with mission demands and end-user requirements, becoming the bridge that makes CHAOS the customer's most trusted tactical partner.
• Field presence: Be wherever the customer needs you—at corporate headquarters, military installations, the Pentagon, or forward in the field. Build trust by engaging at every level, from tactical operators to senior strategic leaders, learning their challenges and earning confidence through presence and performance.
The ideal candidate is a disciplined planner, skilled coordinator, and flawless executor who thrives in dynamic operational settings. You should be equally comfortable in formal settings and stepping out of a tactical vehicle. You must be a true team player who collaborates seamlessly with engineering, leadership, and fellow operators to drive shared success.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Requirements:
• Problem-solving mentality: Fight for information, build teams, think creatively, and relish tackling difficult problems
• Program/Project Management: Proven experience developing requirements, scoping programs, and delivering to customers in the defense industry
• Hands-on capability: Willingness to get hands-on with hardware in the field with customers; CHAOS is engineering-first with hardware components
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal): Interface with customer stakeholders across the hierarchy, from day-to-day operators to senior leaders; capture insights and deliver them clearly to CHAOS engineering, product management, and leadership
• Risk tolerance: Willingness to deploy to customer locations where needed; hazardous duty pay available for approved locations
• Travel: Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to customer sites across the United States and abroad in support of mission requirements
• Security clearance: Active security clearance or ability to obtain one
Preferred Requirements:
• Experience with radar, RF, sensor, weapons systems, defense technology, or communications
• Extensive experience with U.S. military operations, or background in military engineering or advanced defense technologies
• Comfort deploying as part of a team within the United States or overseas to support operational engagements; capable of operating in remote environments and proactively planning for and mitigating risks
