CHAOS Industries is a defense technology company founded in 2022 and backed by $1 billion in funding from investors including 8VC, Accel, and Valor Equity Partners. The company develops multi-product defense solutions powered by Coherent Distributed Networks (CDN™), serving warfighters, commercial air operators, and border protection teams globally.
The Mission Execution Lead (MEL) is a customer-facing operations role based in London, serving as the bridge between CHAOS and its international military customers across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. You will own end-to-end planning and execution of customer demonstrations, exercises, site surveys, training, contract milestones, and deliveries from initial pre-sales conversations through post-contract implementation.
Key responsibilities include: building and maintaining deep customer relationships and trust; taking full ownership of program planning and delivery execution; aligning cross-functional teams (engineering, product, operations, leadership) around unified plans; identifying and mitigating risks to schedule, mission, reputation, and personnel; becoming a subject matter expert on CHAOS products and technology; engaging customers in field environments; and serving as the voice of the customer, translating feedback back to engineering, product, and leadership.
You will work with customer stakeholders at all levels, from operational counterparts to senior military leadership. Travel is expected at approximately 50% to customer sites across Europe and the Middle East, as well as to CHAOS offices in Los Angeles and Washington DC. The role requires comfort working in field environments, including tactical settings, and willingness to get hands-on with hardware when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements:

- Technical fluency; ability to quickly learn complex products and technology and become a subject matter expert on CHAOS systems
- Collaborative, team-minded approach; ability to work across functions and prioritize mission and team success
- Strong problem-solving mentality; ability to fight for information, build teams, think creatively, and tackle difficult problems
- Proven program/project management experience, including requirements development, program scoping, and customer delivery in the defense industry
- Comfort working in field environments alongside customers; willingness to roll up sleeves and work hands-on with hardware
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage stakeholders from operational level to general officers
- Ability to contextualize and communicate customer feedback to internal teams
- Risk tolerance and willingness to travel to customer locations where needed
- Ability and interest to travel approximately 50% (with flexibility for higher travel periods) to customer sites across Europe and the Middle East, and to offices in LA and Washington DC
- Existing UK security clearance or eligibility to obtain it
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with radar, RF, sensor, weapons systems, defense technology, or communications
- Background working with European militaries, or military engineering or Special Forces technology experience
- Experience organizing and navigating overseas engagements, operating in remote areas, and planning/mitigating risk to reputation, mission, and personnel
