Swarm Aero is building the world's largest swarming UAV systems and Command & Control software to mobilize autonomous aircraft swarms. The company is Series A-funded with a team experienced in aerospace design and defense contracting.
As Mission Development Lead (Software), you will drive adoption and expansion of the Legion software product. You will own a portfolio of customer relationships and opportunities from day one, working directly with defense and government clients to understand their operational needs and translate those requirements back to engineering teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning your customer portfolio with radical responsibility and accountability
- Working closely with clients to deeply understand their challenges and missions
- Collaborating directly with Swarm Aero engineers to shape product development for customer operational needs
- Identifying, evaluating, and pursuing new opportunities
- Creating clear communications and artifacts (white papers, proposals, presentations, analysis) for internal and external stakeholders
- Managing complex accounts and multi-stakeholder relationships as the company scales
- Organizing and leading mission execution across parallel initiatives
You will operate in a fast-moving environment requiring rapid learning, iteration, and tenacity. Travel of 25–75% is required. You must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance and comply with ITAR regulations (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for State Department authorization).
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years in business development, capture, product management, or technical sales (defense or regulated industry preferred)
- Experience working with complex hardware/software systems and the technical teams that build them
- Track record of managing multi-stakeholder technical projects or accounts
- Comfort operating with government or military customers (prior DoD, military, or contractor experience a plus)
- Strong writing and research skills
- Ability to set and achieve goals in ambiguous environments
- Broad knowledge of technology development
- Must be able to obtain and hold U.S. Top Secret security clearance
- ITAR-eligible (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for State Department authorization)
