Salary: USD 135,000 - 160,000 / annual
Quince is a manufacturer-to-consumer (M2C) fashion brand on a mission to deliver high-quality essentials at radically affordable prices. The company eliminates traditional retail layers by working directly with manufacturing partners and deploying proprietary technology and analytics to scale rapidly.
The Merchandising Manager for Women's Denim will own the end-to-end merchandising strategy and execution for the denim category, driving assortment decisions, revenue, margins, and overall category growth. This is a high-impact role where the individual will be responsible for building and running an emerging category strategy while delivering near-term results independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own all aspects of denim merchandising: category strategy, fit assortment, seasonal wash assortment, launches, and performance tracking
- Lead the fabric library reset project to redefine quality standards for denim fabrics and stretch buckets across the business
- Work closely with tech design on fit intent and execution
- Partner with product development and sourcing teams to align quality, costs, and vendor execution
- Analyze data (sales velocity, margin, return rates, ratings, reviews) to drive decision-making and identify quality improvement opportunities
- Maintain competitive market awareness and identify white-space opportunities in the assortment
- Onboard best-in-class vendors to expand the sourcing base and align with the Quince M2C model
- Continuously refine the product roadmap based on new information and learnings
- May manage 0–2 direct reports (analysts or assistant merchants)
The role is based in San Francisco with a 3 days per week in-office requirement.
Requirements:
- 5–7 years of retail merchandising experience with denim brands, preferably with luxury expertise
- 1–2 years of people management experience
- E-commerce and/or DTC experience preferred
- Proven track record of progressing within an organization with continuous growth in roles and responsibilities
- Product-obsessed mindset with experience leveraging data tools and external sources
- Critical eye to anticipate customer needs (both the science and art of retail merchandising)
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and analytical with focus on execution, problem-solving, and process improvement
- Continuous learner and highly curious; open to new perspectives and proactive when changing course
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Motivated by fast-paced, collaborative environments with flexibility to stretch across functional areas
- Bachelor's degree preferred
