As a Product Engineer, you will own defined product surfaces end-to-end, working across the full stack including data models, backend services, APIs, and user-facing interfaces. You'll partner closely with product, design, and the in-house legal team to shape what gets built and how it works. The role involves designing and shipping features across Python services, React/TypeScript frontends, and AI systems that power the product. You'll model complex legal workflows into data models, services, and APIs that the broader team depends on. Beyond feature shipping, you'll set technical patterns, make foundational architectural decisions, and help mentor engineers as the team scales.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building end-to-end features from backend services to polished user interfaces
- Developing and improving AI workflows that underpin the product
- Designing systems and data models that represent complex legal processes
- Rapid prototyping and iteration with product and legal teams
- Mentoring engineers and supporting recruitment
Requirements:
- 5+ years of production software development experience
- Strong backend depth with sufficient frontend fluency to ship polished interfaces independently
- Proficiency in Python and TypeScript preferred, but judgment and problem-solving valued over specific stack knowledge
- Systems thinking: comfortable designing schemas, APIs, and services; ability to anticipate failure modes
- Strong product instincts and low tolerance for technically correct but poor user experiences
- Builder mindset with excitement for creating and scaling systems from the ground up
- Full ownership mentality from ideation through execution and delivery
- Effective communication and collaboration with product, design, and domain experts
- Curiosity and passion for learning and experimenting with new technologies
