Basis is building production-grade AI agents that perform complex, end-to-end work for major accounting firms. The company recently raised $100M at >$1B valuation with backing from top-tier investors including Khosla Ventures, Accel, and Google Ventures.
You will be the hands-on owner of IT infrastructure, responsible for building systems that enable Basis to scale quickly, securely, and without operational friction. This is a foundational role where you'll establish IT practices from the ground up as the company grows from ~100 to 500+ employees.
Key responsibilities include:
**Identity & Access Management**: Design and implement centralized identity systems (Okta or equivalent), build fast and automated onboarding/offboarding workflows, and maintain clean, auditable access controls across all systems.
**Endpoint Management**: Own a Mac-first environment end-to-end, scale MDM solutions (Jamf, Kandji), enforce security baselines and patching, and ensure device compliance.
**IT Operations**: Own day-to-day operations across identity, devices, SaaS, networking, and office infrastructure. Troubleshoot issues directly and identify patterns to build systems that eliminate recurring problems.
**Corporate Security**: Implement endpoint security and access controls, partner on SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 compliance, and ensure audit readiness through real infrastructure.
**SaaS & Vendor Management**: Rationalize the SaaS stack, own provisioning and licensing, and partner with finance on procurement decisions.
You should have end-to-end IT ownership experience, hands-on systems expertise with tools like Okta, Jamf/Kandji, SentinelOne/CrowdStrike, and VPN/ZTNA solutions. You're a builder who turns ad hoc processes into scalable systems, have strong internal customer orientation, and can balance security with business speed. Experience scaling IT in Mac-first, in-person companies in the 100–500 employee range is ideal. An AI-first mindset and excitement about using AI to automate repetitive IT work is essential.
