Salary: USD 250,000 - 400,000 / annual
Latch builds AI agents and benchmarks for biological research, enabling frontier AI systems to understand biology and medicine. Over 10,000 scientists use Latch's agents for R&D, and all major frontier AI labs use Latch benchmarks to measure their systems' capabilities in biology and medicine.
You will become Latch's authority on gene therapy, owning the gene therapy benchmarks across the company's roadmap. This is a newly created function, and you will define its scope and execution in equal measure. Your responsibilities include:
- Authoring and shipping gene therapy benchmarks across discovery, development, translation, and long-horizon work
- Serving as the scientific authority at Latch for all gene therapy matters
- Collaborating with scientists to design and run agentic drug programs in the wet lab
- Working with CROs to run experiments and gather data that inform benchmarks
- Building and leading a team to scale the function beyond yourself
The role is full-time, in-person at Latch's waterfront office in China Basin, San Francisco. The team works from the office five days a week; this is not a hybrid or remote position.
Latch is a team of roughly 95 people based in San Francisco with remote options for other roles. The company is backed by frontier AI labs and serves the biological research and drug development communities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in gene therapy
- Strong, defensible opinions about what correct work looks like in the field
- Desire to lead a new function and build a team
