Fireworks is a Series D AI platform ($17.5B valuation) enabling companies to build, train, and serve specialized AI models tailored to their data and workflows. Founded by the PyTorch team and backed by AMD, NVIDIA, Sequoia, and others, Fireworks powers production AI with hundreds of state-of-the-art open models across text, image, embedding, audio, and multimodal workloads. As a Member of Technical Staff (Full Stack), you will architect, build, and scale the developer-focused web application (fireworks.ai) and shape the end-to-end technical architecture. This role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership, mentoring other engineers while driving innovation in a fast-paced AI environment. Key responsibilities include: - End-to-end ownership of fireworks.ai from UI through API and data layers, with focus on developer experience - Product-led growth through the web application, model playground, and seamless onboarding workflows - Full stack development: responsive web applications, robust backend services, and scalable APIs - Mentorship and technical coaching of full stack, frontend, and backend engineers through code reviews and pair programming - Define and implement full stack architectural standards, API design best practices, database schemas, and development workflows - Cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design, and Core AI/Infrastructure teams - Build reusable frontend component libraries and modular backend services - Champion application performance, security, data integrity, and accessibility - Drive innovation in full stack trends, cloud-native technologies, and AI orchestration frameworks Required qualifications: - Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience - 6+ years professional full stack software development - 2+ years technical leadership experience (tech lead, team lead, or engineering manager) - Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Next.js - Strong backend proficiency: RESTful/GraphQL APIs, Node.js, Python, or Go - Solid understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases, caching, and data modeling - Proven track record delivering and scaling production-grade full stack applications - Experience with AWS, GCP, or OCI; Docker; and CI/CD pipelines Preferred qualifications include AI/ML domain knowledge, startup experience, people management, developer tooling background, and open-source contributions.
