You will join as a Senior Frontend Engineer in San Francisco, responsible for raising the quality of customer-facing experiences used to build and operate voice AI agents. This role spans frontend development across call health, LLM observability, reporting, and analytics—a broad product surface with significant ownership opportunities.
Your focus will be on building data-heavy dashboards and call logs used by thousands of monthly active users. You'll make complex, real-time workflows fast, accessible, and trustworthy through thoughtful frontend architecture and implementation.
In your first 30 days, you'll ramp up on Vapi's frontend stack (Agent Loop/Observe), build context with engineering, product, and design teams, and ship a meaningful improvement. By 60 days, you'll take end-to-end ownership of a core workflow in call health/LLM observability or reporting and analytics, delivering production React and TypeScript work with strong API integration, testing, and measurable improvements to performance, accessibility, or usability. By 90 days, you'll become the primary frontend owner for your area, establishing reusable patterns in the design system and Storybook, improving how data-intensive and real-time interfaces scale, and helping the team leverage agentic coding tools without compromising craft.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep frontend expertise and a proven record of shipping customer-facing products
- Strong command of React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, browser APIs, and integrating frontend applications with backend services and APIs
- Strong web performance and accessibility fundamentals, including tools such as Chrome DevTools and Lighthouse
- Test-driven approach spanning component, visual, and end-to-end testing; experience with Storybook and design systems
- Excellent product and UX judgment and strong collaboration with product and design in fast-moving environments
- Production experience with agentic coding tools and Tailwind CSS
- Plus: experience with data-intensive dashboards, complex tables, pagination across millions of rows, or real-time interfaces
