Fireworks is a Series D AI platform company (valued at $17.5B, backed by NVIDIA, Sequoia, AMD, and others) that enables enterprises to build, train, and serve AI models tailored to their data and workflows. The Enterprise Foundations team builds the foundational capabilities that large-scale enterprises—global banks, insurers, healthcare and legal tech companies, and SaaS platforms—require to run production AI workloads on Fireworks. In this role, you will own end-to-end features that span from customer requirements through production deployment. Your work will touch core data models, APIs, control planes, training and inference stacks, SDKs, CLIs, and console interfaces. You'll design and implement foundational primitives that other teams build upon, often requiring live migration of production systems without downtime. Key responsibilities include: - Owning foundational capabilities end-to-end: data model, API, control plane, runtime, SDK/CLI, and console - Designing enterprise primitives like organizations, sub-accounts, groups, roles, and service identities; integrating with enterprise directories via SSO and SCIM - Building multi-tenant authorization, policy enforcement, and audit systems that satisfy enterprise security architects - Implementing usage metering, spend controls, and billing systems that are correct and auditable at scale - Owning data isolation and key management, including customer-managed encryption keys across AWS, GCP, and Azure - Deploying Fireworks in customer clouds and solving data residency and regional isolation constraints - Using AI tooling aggressively to automate your own work You'll work directly with enterprise customers, participate in security reviews, and be in the room where product decisions are made. Requirements come from live deals and customer conversations, and your work is measured by unblocked revenue, not tickets closed. Minimum qualifications: 2+ years building and operating production backend or distributed systems at scale; strong server-side engineering in Go, Python, C++, TypeScript, or similar; experience designing APIs and data models for cross-team consumption; hands-on depth in at least one major cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) including IAM, KMS, object storage, and VPC networking; track record of owning ambiguous, cross-team workstreams from requirement to production; willingness to work directly with customers. Preferred: experience building for regulated enterprises (financial services, healthcare); enterprise identity and tenancy (SSO, SCIM, RBAC/ABAC, audit logging); metering, quotas, or billing systems; applied cryptography and key management; Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, GitOps); familiarity with LLM inference and fine-tuning.
