REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated ability to write compellingly about complex economic and policy topics for broad audiences
- Published body of long-form writing on economics, policy, or technology

- Experience working closely with experts, earning their trust, and pushing them toward stronger arguments
- Comfort engaging in policy debates while maintaining intellectual rigor and nuance
- Enthusiasm for Anthropic's mission to develop safe and beneficial AI
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience
- Field of study relevant to the role (demonstrated through coursework, training, or experience)
- Years of experience correlating with internal job level requirements
STRONG ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional experience in economic research, analysis, or editing data-heavy publications
- Experience with policymaking institutions (think tanks, government, advocacy organizations) and understanding of Washington operations
- Direct experience on AI policy or technology policy
- Track record of influencing policy debates through writing and public engagement
- Published work on economic growth, labor economics, innovation economics, progress studies, regulatory policy, competition policy, or emerging technology economics
- Established personal audience, ideally built independently
