Precision Medicine Group seeks a Medical Writer to develop scientifically accurate, evidence-based content across multiple formats. This role supports the translation of complex clinical and scientific data into clear, engaging materials aligned with client objectives.
The Medical Writer will draft and revise scientific content including slide decks, manuscripts, training materials, and other deliverables. Key responsibilities include interpreting clinical and preclinical data, applying AMA style and client-specific guidelines, conducting literature searches, and organizing references. The role emphasizes collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, participating in meetings, capturing accurate notes, and incorporating feedback from reviewers. Project support includes learning team standards and processes, tracking tasks and timelines using tools like Workfront and SharePoint, and maintaining an 85% billable utilization goal.
The position offers structured guidance and progressive responsibility for those without prior medical writing experience, while experienced medical writers will operate with greater independence. The role requires professionalism, flexibility, accountability, and a commitment to continuous skill development through feedback and collaboration with managers and Scientific Directors.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral-level degree in life sciences (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent)
- Strong interest in medical writing and scientific communication
- Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time-management skills and ability to balance multiple projects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneNote, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn AMA style and reference tools (e.g., EndNote)
- Prior medical writing experience is beneficial but not required; level of independence aligns with experience
