As Medical Director at the Spruce Pine clinic, you will lead a clinical care team including Advanced Practitioners, Medical Assistants, Care Managers, and Community Health Workers while maintaining your own patient panel. This is a hands-on leadership role combining clinical excellence with team building and culture leadership. Key responsibilities include: - Leading and coaching your clinical team in delivering the Hopscotch care model - Managing your own panel of senior patients in a comprehensive, interdisciplinary care setting - Coaching providers on panel management, documentation, and indirect care time optimization - Partnering with the Care Center Manager to drive performance on patient experience, quality metrics (STARS/HEDIS), care coordination, utilization, and cost outcomes - Championing talent development, clinical innovation, and compliance across the center - Representing Hopscotch in the community through education, engagement, and health initiatives Required qualifications: Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine; 3+ years of post-residency experience including team management; active, non-probationary North Carolina medical license (or willingness to obtain); US work authorization. Desirable experience includes Medicare population expertise, at-risk/high-acuity panel management, value-based care models, data-driven clinical decision-making, and a track record of developing others. Hopscotch provides a supportive clinical environment with dedicated Medical Assistants and Clinical Documentation Specialists, longer appointment times with built-in charting, smaller patient panels (~15 patients/day), and on-site interdisciplinary teams to support comprehensive patient wellness.
