As Medical Director, you will lead a clinical care team including Advanced Practitioners, Medical Assistants, Care Managers, and Community Health Workers while maintaining your own patient panel of seniors. This is a hands-on leadership role combining clinical practice with team management and organizational leadership.
Key responsibilities include: leading your clinical team in executing the Hopscotch care model; caring for your own panel of senior patients in a comprehensive, interdisciplinary setting; coaching providers on panel management, documentation, and indirect care time; partnering with the Care Center Manager to optimize patient experience, STARS/HEDIS metrics, care coordination, utilization, and cost outcomes; championing talent development, culture, clinical innovation, and compliance; and representing Hopscotch in the community through education and engagement.
You must have board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, 2+ years of post-residency experience including team management, and an active, non-probationary North Carolina medical license (or willingness to obtain one). Preferred qualifications include experience with Medicare populations and at-risk/high-acuity panels, familiarity with value-based care models, data-driven clinical decision-making, and a track record of developing others.
Hopscotch supports clinicians by reducing administrative burden: dedicated Medical Assistants and Clinical Documentation Specialists prepare charts, longer appointment times with built-in charting, smaller patient panels (averaging ~15 patients/day), and on-site interdisciplinary teams supporting comprehensive patient wellness.
