Salary: USD 250,000 - 300,000 / annual
Tia is transforming women's healthcare by integrating primary care, gynecology, mental health, dermatology, and wellness across in-person and virtual settings. The company operates across four markets and serves over 120,000 women.
The Medical Director, Clinical Quality will lead Tia's clinical quality program while maintaining an active clinical practice, split equally between direct patient care (approximately 2.5 days per week) and clinical quality leadership (approximately 2.5 days per week). This role may be based at any Tia clinic within the New York City, San Francisco Bay Area, or Los Angeles markets, with the primary clinic location determined based on candidate location and organizational needs.
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, you will use clinical data and evidence to identify opportunities, improve care delivery, and strengthen quality across Tia's markets and clinical teams. You will serve as a strategic thought partner to the CMO and help guide the continued evolution of Tia's care model.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and continuously evolve Tia's clinical quality program across markets, service lines, and care teams
- Review clinical quality data to identify trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement
- Translate quality findings into measurable improvement plans, clinical workflows, and provider education
- Develop system-wide training and educational programs for physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other clinical team members
- Lead the review and ongoing maintenance of clinical policies, protocols, care pathways, and standard operating procedures across provider and nursing practice
- Ensure Tia's clinical standards reflect current evidence, regulatory requirements, and patient population needs
- Partner with Clinical Operations, Analytics, Learning and Development, and other teams to implement and evaluate quality initiatives
- Partner with Tia's Clinical Advisory Board and multidisciplinary subject matter experts in evolving the care model
- Incorporate established and emerging evidence into clinical standards, helping define and advance the standard of care for women
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Chief Medical Officer on clinical quality priorities and care model decisions
- Provide direct patient care approximately 50% of the time, using frontline clinical experience to inform system-wide improvements
Requirements:
- MD or DO with board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Active, unrestricted medical license and willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed
- 5+ years of post-residency clinical experience, including experience in primary care or women's health
- 2+ years of experience leading or meaningfully contributing to clinical quality, patient safety, clinical education, or care model initiatives
- Experience using clinical data to identify quality gaps and drive measurable improvements
- Experience developing or updating clinical policies, protocols, care pathways, or standard operating procedures
- Ability to translate evidence and quality findings into scalable clinical education and training
- Strong strategic judgment and ability to influence multidisciplinary clinical and operational teams
- Ability to balance direct patient care with system-wide clinical quality leadership
Nice to have:
- Experience leading quality initiatives across multiple locations, markets, or service lines
- Experience in an integrated, value-based, digital health, or high-growth healthcare environment
- Formal training or certification in healthcare quality, patient safety, clinical informatics, or medical education
- Experience serving on or leading a clinical advisory board, quality committee, or clinical governance group
