Peregrine Health is a fast-growing behavioral health services and technology platform partnering with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and Community Health Centers (CHCs) to expand access to mental health and substance use disorder care across multiple states.
The Medical Director will serve as a key member of Peregrine's leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO. This is a hybrid role combining clinical leadership with direct patient care (3 administrative days / 2 clinical days per week). The position is flexible within Peregrine's service regions.
Key responsibilities include:
**Clinical Leadership & Governance:**
- Serve as Professional Corporation (PC) Owner for Peregrine's clinical practice entities
- Establish clinical protocols, decision frameworks, and escalation pathways for partners, providers, and patients
- Develop crisis protocols and manage legal escalations (Board of Nursing, subpoenas, partner executives)
- Partner with Market Operations leadership to ensure operational teams understand and execute clinical protocols
**Strategic & Revenue Growth:**
- Shape revenue-generating clinical programs (e.g., Collaborative Care Model)
- Standardize clinical processes across markets
- Represent Peregrine externally as a thought leader in behavioral health
**Clinical Oversight:**
- Provide direct patient care and clinical supervision
- Ensure clinical excellence across the organization
- Drive quality and compliance initiatives
The ideal candidate brings deep understanding of community health, value-based care, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) programs, with passion for expanding access to care in underserved communities. This role combines clinical expertise with strategic business acumen.
