As Medical Director for Daymark in Michigan, you will lead a clinical team delivering supportive oncology care to cancer patients in home and virtual settings. Reporting to the Michigan Medical Director, you combine clinical expertise with operational excellence to support patients and their oncology providers.
Key responsibilities include:
**Direct Patient Care:** Lead your care team and deliver supportive care including supportive oncology, palliative care, second opinions, and clinical trial advisory. Care for high-acuity, clinically complex patients across hybrid home-based and virtual visits. Manage clinical escalations and participate in on-call coverage.
**Team Leadership:** Provide day-to-day clinical supervision, mentorship, and case-based teaching for Nurse Practitioners, RNs, and clinical staff. Lead interdisciplinary case conferences and huddles with clear care plan communication. Champion a culture of clinical excellence, continuous learning, and evidence-based practice.
**Care Model & Quality:** Uphold Daymark's clinical policies, documentation standards, and quality measures. Partner with national clinical leadership to refine care pathways, workflows, and programs, bringing frontline insight into how the care model performs for complex, seriously ill, and home-based patients.
Required qualifications: Board-certified physician (MD or DO) in medical, radiation, or surgical oncology, or closely related specialty (hospice/palliative medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, geriatrics) with active, unrestricted Michigan medical license, or experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) with demonstrated leadership track record. Minimum 5 years practicing supportive oncology care with direct patient care experience. Significant experience (5+ years) managing clinically complex cancer patients throughout care continuum, including end-of-life care and goals-of-care conversations. Home-based or virtual care experience strongly preferred. Natural mentor and clinical leader who elevates clinician practice. Comfortable with technology and fast-paced environments. Available 4+ days per week (minimum 3 days required).
