As Medical Director in California, you will lead clinical operations for cancer patient populations served by Daymark. Reporting to the California Market Medical Director, you combine clinical expertise with operational excellence to deliver supportive oncology care in home and virtual settings. You are a practicing physician in California with oncology or related specialty board certification.
Direct Patient Care: Lead the care team and deliver supportive care including supportive oncology, palliative care, second opinions, and clinical trial advisory. Care for high-acuity and clinically complex patients across the hybrid model, managing home-based and virtual visits. Participate in on-call coverage to support patients and care team escalations.
Team Leadership: Provide day-to-day clinical supervision, mentorship, and case-based teaching for Nurse Practitioners, RNs, and clinical staff. Participate in and lead interdisciplinary case conferences and huddles, ensuring complex patients have clear, well-communicated care plans. Champion a culture of clinical excellence, continuous learning, and evidence-based practice.
Care Model & Quality: Uphold Daymark's clinical policies, documentation standards, and quality measures in daily practice. Serve as a clinical leader and face of Daymark's program with providers and health plan partners in your area. Daymark anticipates hiring one to two Medical Directors in California.
