Salary: CHF 150,500 - 279,500 / annual
DTX Pharma, a Novartis Company, is seeking a Medical Affairs Lead to provide strategic and operational leadership across the Europe Central Cluster (ECC). In this Director-level role, you will lead a team of six Country Medical Affairs Heads and report to the SERCE Cluster Medical Affairs Head, driving medical strategy execution, launch readiness, evidence generation, governance, and healthcare ecosystem engagement across multiple countries.
Key responsibilities include implementing International Medical strategy aligned with global priorities and the One Brand Plan; driving strategic medical planning and execution to deliver consistent medical excellence and patient impact; leading Medical Launch Readiness planning and execution; overseeing evidence generation activities and Integrated Evidence Plans; driving excellence in scientific engagement and Medical Science Liaison deployment; maintaining oversight of medical governance, compliance, risk management, and audit readiness; partnering with Commercial, Value & Access, Regulatory, Development, and International Medical colleagues; leading healthcare ecosystem readiness initiatives; and building, coaching, and developing a high-performing team of Country Medical Affairs Heads with focus on collaboration, succession planning, and leadership growth.
You will strengthen organizational capability across the ECC cluster by promoting innovation, knowledge sharing, talent development, and continuous improvement. This role combines strategic leadership, people development, and medical excellence while contributing to Novartis' mission to reimagine medicine and ensure patients gain access to transformative therapies.
Required qualifications include an advanced degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related discipline; minimum 8 years of Medical Affairs experience in the pharmaceutical industry; prior experience as a Medical Affairs Head or equivalent senior medical leadership role; previous people management experience leading and developing high-performing teams; experience leading multi-country, cluster, or geographically dispersed organizations; proven experience driving medical strategy execution, launch readiness, and cross-functional medical leadership; strong expertise in evidence generation, medical governance, field medical excellence, and healthcare ecosystem engagement; and proficient English language skills (written and spoken).
Desirable qualifications include an MD degree and previous experience in Value & Access, Commercial, or other cross-functional strategic roles within the pharmaceutical industry.
