The Nuclear Company is a Series A AI-enabled startup pioneering fleet-scale nuclear reactor deployment through a design-once, build-many model. TNC FieldWorks is the union field services division supporting America's existing nuclear fleet and broader energy industry with specialized maintenance, outage execution, and workforce solutions.
The Manager, Mechanical FieldWorks will build, lead, and grow mechanical capabilities within FieldWorks, focusing on developing and deploying highly skilled union craft and specialty technical teams for complex maintenance, outage, and project work across nuclear, power generation, and energy-adjacent markets.
Key responsibilities include:
Field Operations & Technical Leadership: Lead planning, coordination, and oversight of mechanical maintenance, inspection, repair, installation, troubleshooting, commissioning, and outage work. Provide technical leadership ensuring work meets safety standards, customer requirements, plant procedures, industry best practices, OEM recommendations, and applicable codes. Partner with customers and internal teams to define project scopes, technical requirements, staffing needs, schedules, and execution strategies. Serve as a trusted mechanical subject matter expert for planning, workforce readiness, and resolution of complex field and equipment challenges. Support proposal development, technical estimating, bid preparation, and execution planning.
Crew & Technical Capability Development: Build and develop high-performing mechanical crews by identifying required technical skills, experience, and leadership capabilities. Assess workforce capabilities, identify critical skill gaps, and develop specialty talent pipelines. Establish relationships with union halls and craft partners to source, develop, and deploy skilled teams.
Customer & Stakeholder Leadership: Build trusted relationships with customers, union partners, and key stakeholders. Communicate technical capabilities, project status, and workforce readiness. Support customer success and long-term partnership development.
Organization Building: As an early FieldWorks leader, help establish the mechanical organization, develop future technical leaders, and build scalable processes and systems for crew development and field execution.
