Salary: USD 92,820 - 125,580 / annual

Varda Space Industries is accelerating the development of commercial space infrastructure, including in-orbit pharmaceutical processing, reentry capsules, and satellite buses. The company is backed by top-tier investors including Khosla Ventures, Lux Capital, and Founders Fund, with leadership from SpaceX, Blue Origin, and major pharmaceutical companies. The Materials Manager will primarily support the expansion of inventory and kitting operations to new Varda locations while serving as a secondary backup to the Logistics Manager for inbound and outbound transportation scheduling and coordination. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a startup environment, can implement process improvements, and support growth across multiple buildings. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor material movements and process flow in the shop - Move material to and from receiving and production areas - Develop scaling plans for material movement across multiple buildings - Manage the lifecycle of material from point of receipt through final use - Advise on supply chain material design, focusing on inventory optimization and cost-savings opportunities - Design and manage programs that scale with production volume and supply base growth - Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments - Move material around the factory or to alternate sites - Properly store material in inventory systems - Prepare kits of materials requested within the ERP system - Monitor inventory shelf life and stock levels - Perform inventory counts - Demonstrate organizational excellence Requirements: - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems or equivalent software - 3-5+ years of experience with logistics, material movement, inventory management, or related supply chain operations - Strong organizational and communication skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment - ITAR compliance: Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))
