Built is an AI-powered platform transforming real estate finance and construction management, serving 350+ lenders, 80,000+ borrowers, and managing $300 billion in active projects. The company's Marketplace connects capital sources with essential project services—inspection firms, appraisers, environmental consultants, title providers, suppliers, and diligence vendors—creating an embedded procurement layer within the platform.
As Marketplace Operations Manager, you will own the commercial and operational backbone of this two-sided marketplace. Your core responsibilities span three areas:
Pricing & Margin: Design and build reusable pricing frameworks that guide how new services are priced as the marketplace expands into new categories. Lead pricing analysis for managed-services offerings, balancing competitiveness with margin. Own and report on marketplace take rate and margin performance across all active services, diagnosing underperformance by service, geography, or vendor segment. Partner with Finance to instrument cost-to-serve data, keeping pricing and costs aligned.
Supply-Demand Liquidity: Monitor vendor supply adequacy by service, geography, and price point to meet buyer demand. Own vendor tiering and ratings criteria, including 'Built preferred' designations. Direct supply-growth priorities for the Vendor Operations team based on liquidity gaps. Monitor and diagnose service penetration with Account Management and Customer Success to ensure buyers fully utilize contracted services.
New-Service Launch & Process Standardization: Build frameworks enabling consistent, repeatable launches of new marketplace services rather than improvised one-off processes. Own pattern recognition across launches, converting repeated operational gaps into standard processes. Serve as the marketplace's cross-cutting operational voice, partnering with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Vendor Operations. Act as point of resolution for cross-side billing or disputes.
You will report to the Director of Operations and collaborate closely with the Marketplace GM and functional leaders across Product, Finance, and Vendor Operations. In this early-stage function, you'll operate with significant ownership and autonomy. As the marketplace scales, the role has potential to grow into a team leadership position.
