OpenAI is seeking a Marketing Scientist to join the Ads Marketing Science function in London. This is a senior individual contributor role reporting to Marketing Science leadership, combining rigorous measurement expertise with client judgment and hands-on execution.
You will help OpenAI Ads prove and improve advertisers' media performance by working with sales, partners, and clients on all forms of measurement including verification, attribution, incrementality, brand lift, marketing mix modeling (MMM), and scalable advertiser reporting. You'll partner closely with Sales on key advertising accounts and collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Partnerships, Legal, and Privacy teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with Sales, advertisers, and agencies to shape learning agendas, interpret measurement results, and improve media performance
- Applying rigorous advertising measurement approaches across attribution, incrementality, MMM, and other methodologies
- Developing scalable measurement programs and guidance that improve decision-making and adoption of rigorous measurement practices
- Shaping advertiser-facing insights experiences that translate campaign and audience data into actionable performance recommendations
- Conducting auction optimization analyses to identify delivery, pricing, and performance opportunities
- Communicating complex statistical concepts clearly while upholding high standards for privacy, quality, transparency, and responsible interpretation
Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of deep expertise in advertising measurement, including experimentation, incrementality testing, attribution, and econometric approaches. You should be a hands-on senior individual contributor comfortable working directly with large datasets using SQL, Python, or R, and AI-enabled analytical workflows. Experience designing and operating lift and incrementality programs, working with third-party measurement providers, and partnering with Product and Engineering teams to scale measurement methodology is essential. You thrive in fast-paced, high-ambiguity environments, influence across teams without formal authority, and care deeply about privacy-forward, trustworthy measurement.
