DiligenceSquared is an AI-native consulting firm delivering investment-grade market research and commercial due diligence to leading private equity firms. The company is backed by Y Combinator and Relentless, with a founding team from Blackstone and BCG, and serves 5 of the 10 largest PE firms globally representing over $3 trillion in AUM.
You will be DiligenceSquared's first marketing hire, building and owning the complete marketing function from the ground up. Working directly with the founders, you'll shape how the company presents itself to the private equity market and convert visibility into pipeline.
Key responsibilities include:
- Organic content: Develop and manage the content calendar across company and founder channels (LinkedIn, articles, case studies, research, newsletters), working with founders and delivery teams to transform client work into compelling narratives.
- Paid marketing: Build and optimize paid campaigns on LinkedIn, search, and other relevant channels, managing creative development, targeting, testing, and performance measurement.
- Partnerships: Establish marketing partnerships with vendors and organizations reaching target buyers through co-marketing, joint content, webinars, newsletters, and events.
- PR and speaking: Secure podcasts, conference speaking slots, panels, and media coverage to build visibility for DiligenceSquared and its founders.
- Events: Own events end-to-end—hosted dinners, roundtables, conferences, sponsorships, VIP experiences—from conception through execution and pipeline conversion.
- Website and search: Manage website content, structure, case studies, and landing pages; improve discovery through traditional search and AI assistants.
- Measurement: Track performance across all channels and events, identify engagement and pipeline drivers, and optimize investment allocation.
This is a first-hire role with no existing team or established playbook. You'll build both the strategy and execute tactically.
Requirements:
- 4–7 years of marketing, communications, content, investor relations, or related client-facing experience, ideally in private markets, professional services, research, advisory, or high-trust B2B environments
- Excellent writing ability: translate complex ideas into clear, credible content for sophisticated investment audiences
- Strong editorial and brand judgment; know what deserves publication and how to make it sharp without over-marketing
- Polished with senior audiences; comfortable hosting dinners for PE partners and representing the company professionally
- High initiative; develop your own point of view on priorities and own execution
- Fluent with AI tools as part of daily workflow
- Commercial and analytical mindset; understand program costs, ROI, and where to invest
- Hands-on and adaptable; comfortable with both strategy and execution
Bonus qualifications:
- Experience marketing or selling to private equity
- Background at investment firms, consulting firms, research businesses, or professional services organizations
- Working knowledge of paid marketing, SEO, and AI assistant content discovery
- Previous startup experience
