Despegar (Decolar), part of the Prosus ecosystem, is seeking a Market Manager to lead commercial operations for the hotel business in Brazil. This is a strategic, hands-on role managing a portfolio of high-impact hotels across different sizes and segments.
You will serve as a trusted advisor to hotel partners—owners, general managers, and revenue teams—consulting on pricing, media investment, inventory strategy, and seasonal positioning before they make key commercial decisions. This is not a farming role; it is a consultative commercial operator position requiring proven track record and autonomy to make decisions without escalation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building executive-level trust with portfolio hotels and owning end-to-end commercial results (revenue, market share, conversion, retention)
- Conducting complex negotiations on tariffs, inventory, paid media, promotions, and commercial terms across all group brands
- Delivering data-driven market analysis, benchmarking, and positioning recommendations using Excel, Metabase, and Power BI
- Maintaining consistent cadence of business reviews and optimization calls with measurable action plans
- Translating product, pricing, and distribution updates into concrete gains for hotel partners
- Serving as the voice of the market internally, influencing product and operations roadmap based on field insights
- Active representation at trade shows, events, and field visits
- Developing local engagement initiatives and activation formats
You will operate simultaneously at strategic and tactical levels, managing a portfolio of hotels with different profiles and communication needs, each requiring tailored conversations but consistent excellence in partnership.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6–10 years of experience in consultative B2B portfolio management in travel tech, online hospitality, SaaS, digital media, or adjacent sectors
- Proven track record of building trust with senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated history of hitting quarterly and annual targets with measurable revenue, share, or retention results
- Fluency in CRM and disciplined book-of-business management
- Advanced Excel, Power BI, Metabase; SQL knowledge is a plus
- Knowledge of online hotel distribution: Channel Manager, APIs, pricing techniques, revenue management, inventory management (strong differentiator)
- Ability to operate in ambiguous, dynamic environments with autonomy and ownership
- High-level verbal and written communication; capable of engaging boutique hotel owners and resort general managers
- Availability for frequent travel within assigned region
- Native Portuguese; mandatory English; Spanish is a plus
- Passion for travel and online hospitality business
