Picnic is reinventing the workplace lunch experience by partnering with top local restaurants and batching orders to deliver high-quality, individually packed meals to companies without fees or tips.
As Market Manager for Austin, you will own growth across new business development, account expansion, and local market intelligence. This hybrid role bridges Picnic's central teams and street-level reality in your city.
New Business & Closing: You will map and prioritize office opportunities across Austin, tracking building types, employee counts, and decision-maker access. Working with SDRs on warm leads, you own the full sales motion from discovery through close and onboarding. You'll run a consultative process, understanding each company's needs and positioning Picnic as the solution. You'll also shape SDR outreach strategy based on your on-the-ground market knowledge.
Account Expansion: Partner with the National Accounts team to drive growth within existing customers. Visit Picnic locations to understand the employee experience, identify expansion opportunities (additional offices, more dining slots, higher participation), and flag accounts with growth or churn risk. Turn satisfied customers into referral sources.
Restaurant Selection Intelligence: Work with the central restaurant team on cuisine selection for Austin's market, accounting for logistics within large office towers. Bring back local demand signals—which cuisines are underrepresented, what employees want, and what works operationally given building types.
Local Marketing & Community: Plan and execute grassroots marketing including flyering, pop-ups, office samplings, POC happy hours, and admin appreciation events. Build a robust Picnic community across social channels and in-person activations. Capture competitor moves, building trends, and employee behavior insights to inform central strategy.
You'll need 2+ years in growth, sales, business development, partnerships, or account expansion; a bachelor's degree from a top university; proven ability to own deals end-to-end; strong relationship-building skills across executives, building managers, and community leaders; excellent organization to juggle pipeline, field visits, marketing, and outreach; comfort with data and basic funnel metrics; and a self-starter mentality. Nice-to-haves include early-stage startup experience, food/hospitality/real estate background, SDR management experience, event planning, and CRM familiarity.
