Salary: USD 111,000 - 123,000 / annual
Airbnb is seeking a Market Manager to drive the health and expansion of hotel supply in Italy. This role is based in Portland, Oregon and focuses on managing the HotelTonight and Airbnb hotel marketplace in your designated territory.
You will be responsible for building and managing strategic relationships with hotel partners, implementing optimization strategies across thousands of properties, and driving quarterly sales targets. Your day-to-day work includes conducting regular business reviews and optimization calls with partners, developing tiering and account management strategies, converting hotel leads, and managing relationships with strategic partners and internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include leveraging data to identify growth opportunities, developing localized supply management strategies for both established and emerging markets, educating clients on product updates, cascading feedback to internal teams (product, communications, public policy, legal, tax, customer support), and representing Airbnb at industry conferences and external meetings. You will work cross-functionally to ensure long-term market success and develop unique engagement projects that foster innovation within your territory.
The role requires understanding local market trends, technical aspects of software partnerships, and the ability to manage both strategic and tactical priorities in ambiguous environments. Travel to your assigned territory is expected approximately once every 4-6 weeks.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in new sales, account management, and partner support
- 2+ years of tech/travel industry experience (preferred)
- Proven track record managing a book of business and converting opportunities
- Strong quantitative skills and ability to interpret and apply data in day-to-day work
- Ability to work at both strategic and tactical levels in ambiguous environments
- Proven cross-functional collaboration experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (phone, email, in-person)
- Highly proficient in CRM software, particularly Salesforce (preferred)
- Fluency in English and Italian required; additional European languages a strong plus
- Must be based in Portland, Oregon and willing to travel regularly to assigned territory
- Passion for Airbnb, travel, and the sharing economy; being an Airbnb host is a plus
