Salary: USD 111,000 - 147,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is building Arsenal-1, a hyper-scale manufacturing facility near Columbus, Ohio, to produce autonomous systems and weapons at unprecedented scale and speed. The Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) team is responsible for manufacturing autonomous air vehicles including Fury, Barracuda, and RoadRunner, as well as emerging capabilities.
You will join as Manufacturing Operations Manager, managing a team of production technicians responsible for building multiple hardware platforms for strategic military customers. You will report to the Director of Manufacturing Operations for AD&S and own one product line through its production ramp, from prototype maturation to full-rate production.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage technician staff through factory acceptance, directing daily operations and work order issuance
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed, document EHS incidents, and proactively correct hazards
- Coach, mentor, and support production technicians while maintaining high performance standards
- Prioritize work to achieve on-time delivery targets and ensure quality standards throughout production
- Own team culture and be a stakeholder in floor programs and policies
- Provide clear reporting to Production Managers and senior leadership on progress, blockers, risks, and needs
- Manage production systems (NetSuite, JIRA Anduril MES) daily
- Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Planning, Quality, and Supply Chain
- Lead daily communication with engineering, technicians, supply chain, logistics, and quality teams
- Participate actively in 5S and continuous improvement initiatives
- Build a positive, collaborative culture promoting product knowledge and cross-training
Note: This role is based at Arsenal-1 in Columbus, OH. Selected candidates will be required to relocate to Costa Mesa, CA for a three-month training program with Anduril's world-class manufacturing team. Housing, transportation, and related costs will be provided during training.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of experience in production-oriented or electro-mechanical technician fields
- At least 3+ years in a supervisor or production operations lead/manager role in a high-volume production environment
- Experience working with ERP and MES systems
- Full understanding of product life cycle (NPI to scaled production), LEAN manufacturing principles, and change management (ECOs)
- Ability to interpret technical documentation (mechanical drawings, work instructions, building plans, equipment specifications, electrical schematics)
- Experience working directly with and communicating with designers and engineers
- Extremely reliable, organized, and detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Passion for employee development and training of both new hires and veteran production staff
- Proven skills in process and equipment troubleshooting
- Experience supporting process development
- Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing, or 6-Sigma principles
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- New Product Introduction (NPI) experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field (engineering, business, or applied science)
- Lean Six Sigma green belt certification
- Working knowledge of AS9100 standards and OSHA laws
