Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the manufacturing engineering team for the Roadrunner program at Arsenal-1, a hyperscale manufacturing facility in Ashville, Ohio. Roadrunner is a cutting-edge VTOL counter-UAS interceptor designed for autonomous air defense operations.
In this role, you will direct and develop a manufacturing engineering team responsible for the complete industrialization process of Roadrunner, from prototyping and design validation through large-volume production scaling. You will set strategic technical direction, drive continuous process improvement, and ensure the highest standards of manufacturing efficiency and quality.
Key responsibilities include: overseeing the industrialization pipeline from prototype to full-scale production; developing and executing strategic plans for production capabilities incorporating new technologies; owning critical manufacturing documentation such as work instructions and inspection plans; collaborating with product development teams to ensure design manufacturability; managing equipment selection, installation, and commissioning; driving cost reduction and quality enhancement initiatives; managing budgets and forecasting manufacturing needs; establishing training and documentation programs; fostering innovation and accountability within the team; serving as the technical expert for manufacturing engineering issues; liaising with vendors and suppliers; analyzing production metrics to identify improvement opportunities; and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
This is a high-impact role at a critical moment for U.S. defense manufacturing. The successful candidate will help establish the standard for building the future at Arsenal-1 and will have the opportunity to train under Anduril's world-class manufacturing team at headquarters in Costa Mesa, CA for three months before leading operations in Ohio. Housing and transportation are provided during the training period.
