Anduril Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the manufacturing engineering team responsible for the Fury aircraft program, from initial prototyping through full-scale production. This role sits at the intersection of product development and manufacturing operations, requiring strategic leadership to optimize production processes, reduce costs, and scale advanced aerospace systems.
Key responsibilities include leading and managing a dedicated manufacturing engineering team with accountability for process improvements, quality assurance, and production efficiency. You will develop and execute strategic manufacturing plans that incorporate new technologies and methodologies, interface directly with external customers to communicate production roadmaps and capabilities, and own all documentation required for scaled hardware manufacturing including work instructions, inspection plans, and quality requirements.
You will collaborate closely with product development teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and support smooth transitions from prototype to production. This includes evaluating, selecting, and commissioning new manufacturing equipment and processes, managing budgets and forecasting manufacturing needs, and establishing training and documentation programs to build team capabilities.
The role demands continuous improvement mindset—analyzing production metrics, identifying efficiency opportunities, and driving initiatives that enhance quality and throughput. You will serve as the technical expert for manufacturing engineering issues, liaise with vendors and suppliers, ensure regulatory and safety compliance, and foster a culture of innovation and accountability within the manufacturing organization.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field); 5–7 years manufacturing engineering experience with at least 3 years in a managerial role; proven ability to develop products from concept to scaled production; track record leading teams and owning projects end-to-end; experience driving process improvements; strong project management, analytical, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; technical expertise in manufacturing systems (MES, ERP); and eligibility for U.S. security clearance.
Preferred: aerospace or defense program experience; knowledge of low-observable coatings, energetics, mission systems, or propulsion manufacturing; factory design and commissioning experience (greenfield/brownfield); CAD proficiency; familiarity with modern manufacturing automation; and hands-on hardware manufacturing experience.
