CesiumAstro is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to join its Austin-based team. The company develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. In this role, you will own manufacturing processes for CesiumAstro's electronic assemblies destined for satellites and aerospace platforms. Responsibilities span both technical and operational domains: you'll conduct manufacturing analysis and process optimization (solder chemistry selection, defect root-cause analysis, non-compliance investigation), manage supplier relationships and reviews, and maintain process documentation. You'll work with onsite manufacturing capabilities as well as coordinate with contract manufacturers (CMs) to ensure product quality and reliability. Day-to-day work involves cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, engineering, program management, and external partners to industrialize space products at scale. The role combines the precision and rigor demanded by space applications with the volume and efficiency requirements of commercial electronics manufacturing. This is a hands-on position in a dynamic startup environment where your contributions directly impact company success. You'll gain exposure to high-reliability, high-volume satellite manufacturing processes and work on products serving a rapidly growing commercial space market. Note: U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status is required to comply with U.S. Government Space Technology Export Regulations.
