As Managing Director of Isar Aerospace's Canadian launch site, you will be the founding leader establishing the company's first spaceport operations in Canada. This is a rare opportunity to build a national space infrastructure presence from the ground up.
In the build-up phase, you will lead all aspects of launch site development: securing regulatory approvals from Canadian authorities, designing operational infrastructure, establishing safety and compliance frameworks, and assembling a high-performing team. You will coordinate with global engineering and launch teams across Germany, Norway, and Sweden to ensure site design aligns with vehicle requirements. Your responsibilities include overseeing procurement, contractor management, construction activities, and implementing documentation and operational processes.
Once operational, you will oversee all launch-related activities including vehicle integration, pad readiness, payload integration, and mission execution. You will develop detailed launch plans and campaign timelines, lead and grow a multidisciplinary launch operations team, and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and shorten campaign timelines.
You will report to the Canadian Board of Directors and functionally to the VP Mission & Launch Operations, working closely with global teams in Launch Operations, Engineering, HR, Finance, Legal, and Infrastructure. This role combines strategic site development, regulatory navigation, team building, and operational excellence in the emerging commercial space sector.
