Wealthsimple, Canada's leading financial innovator serving 4+ million Canadians with $155B+ in assets under administration, is seeking a Manager of Transfer Pricing & International Tax to join its growing Finance and Tax team.
You will own and lead the company's transfer pricing framework, policies, and compliance across its growing number of legal entities and products. This is a high-impact role combining technical tax expertise with business partnership, reporting to Finance leadership and collaborating closely with Accounting, Treasury, Legal, FP&A, and business teams.
Key responsibilities include: developing and maintaining the group's transfer pricing framework, policies, and contemporaneous documentation; leading preparation and review of Canadian and international transfer pricing documentation (local files, master files, supporting analyses); designing scalable transfer pricing processes, controls, and governance; identifying automation opportunities for transfer pricing calculations and reporting; conducting transfer pricing analysis for intercompany services, technology, IP arrangements, financing, guarantees, and cost allocations; assessing methodologies and overseeing benchmarking and economic analyses; monitoring intercompany transactions for policy alignment; reviewing and designing intercompany agreements; proactively identifying transfer pricing implications of new products, entities, and jurisdictions; managing external advisors on special projects; supporting transfer pricing audits and tax authority inquiries; and monitoring international tax rule developments including OECD initiatives.
You'll help build a scalable transfer pricing function in a fast-growing fintech environment, establishing processes and controls that support continued growth and future IPO readiness. The role is primarily focused on transfer pricing with opportunities to support broader international tax matters as the company expands.
Required: 5–8+ years in transfer pricing, international tax, or tax advisory; strong knowledge of Canadian transfer pricing rules and OECD principles; experience with Canadian transfer pricing documentation, T106 and T1134 reporting; experience with intercompany transactions and multinational/cross-border operating models; understanding of transfer pricing methodologies and economic benchmarking; project management experience; strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-tax stakeholders.
Desirable: CPA, CA, LL.M. or relevant designation; fintech/financial services/technology experience; U.S. tax or international transfer pricing experience; intercompany financing and guarantee experience; technology/IP/centralized service arrangement experience; transfer pricing audit or tax controversy experience; tax technology, automation, or data analytics experience.
