Thea Energy is commercializing fusion energy using stellarator physics breakthroughs. This Manager role owns strategic sourcing and technical subcontracts for custom-built fusion components including cryogenic systems and vacuum vessels.
Key responsibilities include drafting, negotiating, and executing significant technical subcontracts with suppliers. You will manage supplier performance against complex statements of work, tracking milestones, costs, and technical quality. You'll formulate negotiation strategies covering intellectual property protection, confidentiality, liability, risk distribution, and long-term pricing—ensuring all vendor agreements appropriately manage financial, operational, and legal risk.
The role bridges engineering needs with business agreements, translating technical requirements and program milestones into contractual terms, acceptance criteria, and payment schedules. You'll source and evaluate vendor capabilities globally to build an active pipeline of advanced manufacturing partners, and own non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements supporting supplier and partner engagement.
Ideal candidates bring 6+ years managing subcontracts, complex supplier agreements, or commercial procurement contracts. Background in hard-tech, aerospace, defense, or heavy industrial energy projects is highly valued. Deep knowledge of contract law—warranties, IP protections, termination, liability limitations—is essential. Strong attention to detail in contract drafting and document control, negotiation and relationship skills for high-stakes agreements, and cross-functional leadership ability to coordinate inputs from engineering, finance, and legal teams are critical.
