Float is Canada's intelligent financial operating system, combining modern financial services and software to help businesses spend, save, and grow. Trusted by over 7,500 Canadian companies, Float provides corporate cards, automated expense management, bill payments, and high-yield accounts. Recently closed an $85M Series C and is backed by top-tier investors including Inovia Capital, Goldman Sachs Growth Equity, and OMERS Ventures. As Strategic Finance Manager, you'll report directly to the Head of Finance and own the analytical engine driving Float's financial planning, reporting, and decision-making. This is a high-exposure role with direct visibility into executive decisions that shape the company's trajectory. Key responsibilities include: building working relationships with GTM, Product, and People teams to translate financial data into actionable recommendations; owning accurate, timely financial reporting and variance analysis; maintaining and improving core financial models, rolling forecasts, and quarterly budgets; supporting capital allocation decisions and unit economics tracking (CAC, LTV, payback periods, gross margin); and responding to ad hoc analytical requests from the CEO and exec team with speed and quality. You'll need 3-5 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, or strategic finance at a high-growth tech or fintech company. Strong cross-functional partnership skills are essential—you'll work alongside GTM, Product, and other business teams to structure ambiguous problems and ship initiatives. Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills are required, with deep understanding of financial statements, SaaS/fintech metrics, and forecasting techniques specific to technology. You should synthesize complex analysis into clear takeaways for non-finance stakeholders, be a self-starter who drives work to completion, thrive in fast-paced startup environments, and demonstrate ownership and proactivity. A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field is ideal; CPA, MBA, or advanced degree preferred but not required.
