Arc is electrifying the marine industry by rethinking powertrains, software, and vessel designs from first principles. The company has proven core technology, is scaling production of its flagship consumer model, and is now extending its platform to commercial applications including tugs, ferries, and defense systems with signed contracts.
As Manager of Quality, you will own quality across Arc's products, factory, and supply base. You'll lead the quality team, develop the Quality Management System, and partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Service to improve product quality from design through delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and owning Arc's Quality Management System (document control, non-conformance, corrective actions, audits)
- Leading and developing the quality team of engineers and inspectors, scaling the organization alongside production growth
- Defining and improving quality metrics (first-pass yield, defect escapes, rework, cost of poor quality, supplier performance)
- Driving root-cause investigations and corrective actions across Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, suppliers, and field issues
- Establishing inspection and acceptance strategies for incoming material, production processes, and completed vessels
- Building Arc's supplier-quality system (qualification, first-article inspection, scorecards, audits, corrective actions)
- Embedding quality upstream through PFMEAs, control plans, design reviews, production-readiness reviews, and new-product introduction
- Preparing Arc for customer, regulatory, commercial, and defense quality requirements for future programs
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; 6+ years in quality within hardware manufacturing including 2+ years managing a team; demonstrated experience building or substantially rebuilding a Quality Management System; working command of core quality methodology (root cause analysis, CAPA, PFMEA, control plans, SPC, MSA); ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including GD&T; track record of driving cross-functional change in production environments; ability to work extended hours, weekends, and offsite as production demands.
Bonus qualifications include ISO 9001 certification experience, background in composites or high-voltage electrical systems, experience in marine/automotive/aerospace/regulated industries, supplier quality and on-site development experience, familiarity with quality management software and PLM/ERP systems, ASQ certification, and enthusiasm for boating.
