The Nuclear Company, a Series A AI-enabled startup in the nuclear energy space, is seeking an experienced Manager of Project Controls to oversee planning, scheduling, cost management, risk management, and change management for major projects. This role leads a team of project controls professionals and requires deep expertise in project management methodologies and the ability to guide teams to successful project delivery.
Key responsibilities include implementing and maintaining a robust project controls framework aligned with strategic objectives and industry best practices; leading and mentoring a team of project controls professionals; ensuring consistent application of project management methodologies across assigned projects; overseeing development and maintenance of detailed project schedules, resource allocation, and critical path analysis; establishing and monitoring project budgets while tracking expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities; identifying, assessing, and developing mitigation strategies for project risks; implementing Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to measure project performance; preparing comprehensive project status reports with KPIs and variance analysis for stakeholders and senior leadership; managing changes to project scope, schedule, or budget with proper documentation and approval; and driving continuous improvement in project controls processes and tools.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field, with 8+ years of progressive experience in project controls or project management, preferably in the nuclear energy industry or large-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) environments. PMP certification or equivalent is preferred. Required skills include proven track record of successful project delivery on complex projects, strong leadership and communication abilities, analytical expertise, proficiency in industry-standard project management software, thorough knowledge of project controls standards and best practices, and ability to work effectively under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
