Figma is seeking a Manager of Product Design to lead a team of world-class designers shaping the future of collaborative design tools. In this role, you'll manage and hire talented designers, partner closely with Product and Engineering leadership to define vision in ambiguous spaces, and help teams build tools that enable creation at unprecedented scale and speed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and managing a high-performing design team, with focus on team culture and designer development across skill levels
- Partnering with cross-functional Product and Engineering leads to improve processes, set roadmap, and drive strategy execution
- Developing and advocating for product perspectives across the organization
- Running and improving team processes including design critiques, reviews, and design sprints
- Staying hands-on in both people management and strategic execution
- Setting and maintaining high quality standards through feedback, coaching, and mentorship
- Thriving in fast-paced, experimental environments working on novel problems
You bring 3+ years of design management experience with a proven track record of building strong team culture and developing designers. You have deep hands-on expertise with Figma's tools and a strong ability to mentor design teams. You excel at influencing through strategic thinking, storytelling, and clear communication. Familiarity with AI developments, LLMs, code generation, and generative design tools is important. You're comfortable with uncertainty and thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where priorities shift as technology emerges.
Bonus experience includes work on early-stage or zero-to-one projects, AI/ML-powered products, creative tooling, and the ability to bring humor and a solution-oriented approach to evolving challenges.
