Remote is a global employment platform that helps organizations recruit, pay, and manage international teams compliantly. This Manager, Payroll Operations role leads the payroll function for the APAC region, reporting to the Senior Manager of Payroll Operations.
You will manage a payroll operations team, providing guidance and mentorship while owning the complete payroll function across multiple countries. Key responsibilities include ensuring payroll is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with country-specific regulations; serving as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on payroll matters; staying current with international payroll laws and regulations; managing relationships with payroll service providers and accounting partners; and developing best practices, KPIs, and SLA metrics for the team.
Required qualifications include extensive experience in regional or global payroll operations, understanding of global payroll best practices, and experience implementing payroll across multiple countries. You should be proficient with SAP, Excel, and Google Sheets, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. The role requires fluent English, comfort working asynchronously in a distributed team, and a passion for process improvement and automation. Experience managing people without micromanaging is essential. Remote experience is a plus but not required.
