Zscaler is seeking a Manager, Payroll to lead end-to-end payroll operations for the US and Canada. Reporting to the Director of Global Payroll, you will oversee bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll processing, serve as primary approver for payroll review and manual payments, and ensure strict regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions. Key responsibilities include: executing payroll processing for US and Canada; accurately calculating and processing equity transactions (RSUs, NSOs, ESPP) and off-cycle pay runs; managing year-end payroll activities including W2/T4 preparation and reconciliation; coordinating payroll-related quarter-end and year-end accounting close activities; supporting internal and external audits; and developing payroll procedures, controls, documentation, and SOPs to minimize compliance and operational risk. You will operate with integrity, ownership, and accountability. The role requires seamless navigation between high-level strategy and hands-on execution, problem-solving skills for complex compliance challenges, and the ability to collaborate across teams with open communication and candor. You should be a continuous learner with a growth mindset, operating with urgency and bias for action in a fast-paced environment. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent professional experience); 7+ years of progressive payroll experience with significant US payroll oversight; proven experience managing payroll operations in a public company environment; strong knowledge of Federal, State, Local, and Provincial payroll regulations; ability to manage multiple tight deadlines. Preferred: experience with Dayforce and Workday enterprise systems; experience managing large, complex domestic and international employee populations; Active Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation. The role also values foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes.
