Thumbtack is a home services marketplace that helps millions of homeowners find and hire local service professionals. The Manager, Partner Operations role sits within the Commercial Strategy team and leads the operational engine behind Thumbtack's partnerships business.
You will manage a globally distributed team of 3-4 people across the U.S. and Philippines, reporting to the Senior Manager of Partnership Operations. This is a player-coach role requiring you to operate at the intersection of strategy, program leadership, and operations.
Key responsibilities include: leading a portfolio of strategic programs that accelerate partnerships growth; taking emerging opportunities from concept through launch and scale; defining success measures and driving measurable business outcomes; serving as the central hub coordinating across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Legal, and external partners; using data and analytical insight to evaluate opportunities and influence investment decisions; improving the tools, systems, and processes that enable partnerships to launch reliably; and developing your team to become increasingly independent owners.
You'll bring structure to ambiguous opportunities, move fluidly between strategy and execution, and align cross-functional teams. Success requires 5+ years in strategy, operations, business operations, program management, or consulting; 2+ years managing people with demonstrated ability to set direction and develop talent; experience translating ambiguous opportunities into clear strategies and measurable results; a track record leading complex initiatives from concept through execution; strong business judgment and analytical rigor; clear, influential communication skills; and an owner mentality with learning agility and low-ego collaboration approach.
