Clio, a global leader in legal AI technology, is hiring a Manager of Legal Architecture for its SMB sales motion (law firms up to 200 attorneys). This is a new, high-visibility role within the Sales organization, reporting to the Director of Legal Architecture. You will build and lead a team of six Legal Architects—former practicing lawyers—who embed in the sales organization to secure legal wins in deals, deliver tailored product demonstrations, and elevate legal fluency across Velocity, Strategic, Mid Market, and Government segments. This is a player-coach role: your primary responsibility is to hire, coach, and develop the team; set coverage strategy; manage capacity; and build the operating model for a rapidly expanding function. You will also remain hands-on, personally leading select strategic accounts, marquee product launches, and thought leadership initiatives. Key responsibilities include: building and growing the team with clear culture and career paths; owning the coverage model to balance high-touch deals with volume-based enablement; managing capacity against demand; staying hands-on on the hardest legal, ethical, and technical objections; scaling enablement programs (standardized demos, prompt libraries, playbooks, practice-area content); translating field insights into product direction; and running forecasting, pipeline reviews, and quality assurance across all segments. You bring a Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent with practicing legal experience. You have managed or led teams in go-to-market, sales, consulting, legal innovation, or legal tech roles, with a track record of developing people and raising performance. You are comfortable in discovery, live demonstrations, and high-stakes rooms with senior legal stakeholders. You have a strong point of view on AI applications to legal work (LLMs, drafting, research, agentic workflows) and use AI reflexively in your own work. You communicate exceptionally well, command rooms, coach in the moment, and distill complex ideas into clear narratives. You thrive in fast-moving, high-growth environments and can scale functions while they are running. Hub preference: Vancouver or Toronto (with expectation of in-person time with Sales Managers and Account Executives). US-based remote candidates are also considered. Bonus points for leading legal innovation or pre-sales teams in legal tech, building sales enablement programs from the ground up, or active involvement in legal innovation communities.
