A-Alpha Bio, an early-stage drug discovery company in Seattle, is seeking a Manager of Information Security & Technology to lead a comprehensive information security and technology program. This role encompasses cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, laboratory technology, and technology governance across the organization. Key responsibilities include owning the company's cybersecurity program aligned with NIST frameworks, managing risk assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability remediation. You will lead AWS infrastructure and security improvements, manage cloud identity and access controls, and support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives. The role requires designing and implementing network segmentation between corporate and laboratory environments, managing firewalls, DNS, and network access controls while supporting legacy laboratory systems. You will administer Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, including Conditional Access, Intune, identity governance, and endpoint security. The position involves owning administration and governance of key SaaS and enterprise applications, coordinating vendor relationships and application outages. You will establish AI governance and secure-use standards, review technology vendors for security risks, and develop a multi-year technology roadmap. This position requires direct ownership and execution rather than delegation through a dedicated team. You will manage MSP and security vendor relationships, lead cross-functional technology and security projects end-to-end, and communicate technical concepts and risks to both technical and non-technical audiences. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, cloud administration, or technology operations. Hands-on experience administering AWS, Microsoft 365, and Entra ID is essential, along with experience implementing a NIST-aligned cybersecurity program. You must demonstrate ability to lead cross-functional initiatives through influence and technical expertise, with strong writing and communication skills. Preferred qualifications include professional certifications (CISSP, CISM, Security+, AWS, Microsoft), experience in regulated environments (life sciences, biotech, healthcare), and familiarity with laboratory or scientific computing environments.
