Salary: USD 145,000 - 170,000 / annual
Ibotta is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead cross-functional squads building consumer-facing products and platform solutions. You will manage a team of talented engineers, mentor them in their technical careers, and act as a technical coach. Your responsibilities include partnering with Product Management to prioritize and scope business milestones, building technical rollout plans, fostering a positive engineering culture aligned with Ibotta's values, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
Key responsibilities: Be an expert on your squad's products and features; work with Product Management to prioritize and plan milestones; build technical roadmaps with your Director; ensure your squad has the resources to succeed; actively coach and mentor team members; make reliable decisions; guide engineers on responsible AI adoption and integration into the tech stack; adapt agile processes to account for AI advancements; and perform product management duties on engineering-driven squads.
You will coach engineers on using AI tools effectively while ensuring efficiency gains translate into shipped value and that time saved is reinvested in higher-order skills like system design and problem definition. Requirements: 2+ years of engineering management experience or 2+ years of proven tech leadership with eagerness to build teams; 5+ years as a software engineer; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, or related field; experience with agile software development; exposure to multiple languages and frameworks; ability to manage engineers with diverse skill sets; ability to evaluate responsible AI use in development; and strong written and verbal communication skills.
The role is hybrid (3 days in office: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) in Denver, Colorado. Relocation assistance is available. Must be authorized to work in the US full-time.
