Plooto is a payment automation platform serving accountants, bookkeepers, and finance teams across Canada. The platform streamlines payables and receivables management through approval workflows, audit trails, bulk payments, and automated reconciliation.
You will lead the execution and growth of Plooto's cross-border payments and foreign exchange business—a strategic priority representing significant revenue opportunity. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with meaningful business-line ownership. You will drive strategy execution across Product, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Finance, Operations, Risk & Compliance, and external payment partners, influencing without direct authority.
Key responsibilities include: owning the cross-border and FX strategy, translating priorities into initiatives, roadmaps, and KPIs; driving commercialization and customer adoption through segmentation, positioning, and demand generation; managing FX pricing and economics to balance competitiveness, adoption, and margin; shaping the product roadmap as the payments subject-matter expert; managing banking and FX partnerships; leading complex cross-functional execution; using data and customer insights to improve performance; and partnering with Risk and Compliance to manage regulatory and operational considerations.
You will need significant experience in cross-border payments, foreign exchange, treasury, transaction banking, fintech, or payment infrastructure. Deep understanding of international payment flows (correspondent banking, payment networks, settlement, liquidity, FX conversion) is essential, along with strong knowledge of FX pricing, spreads, wholesale currency procurement, liquidity management, and hedging. Experience developing, scaling, or commercializing payments or FX products within fintech, payments companies, banks, or SMB-focused organizations is required.
