TRM Labs is seeking a Manager of All Source Investigations to lead a team of 5–15+ investigators focused on disrupting financial crime networks, including pig butchering syndicates, romance fraud, and investment scams. This is a hands-on management role where you will not carry your own caseload but remain deeply embedded in the work.
Key responsibilities include: managing the team's operational cadence from legal process through on-chain/off-chain data fusion to targeting; ensuring work-product quality and defensibility for external review; hiring, developing, and career-pathing investigators; partnering cross-functionally with engineering, legal, and external partners; and translating impact outward through briefings and joint operations.
You will lead from alongside—close enough to the tradecraft to direct, review, and unblock work during surges, but not owning cases yourself. The role requires balancing high-volume throughput with sustainable pace, managing blockers, and maintaining a credible QC layer on every deliverable.
Required qualifications: 3+ years leading a team with demonstrated people-management practices (feedback, career-pathing, performance management); operator mindset with a track record of driving information to real-world outcomes, not just producing reports; experience with work tested by external standards (DOJ, OFAC, courts); complex financial crime investigation background (scams, fraud, sanctions, money laundering, extortion); network mapping and analytical capability; AI fluency in your own work with clear judgment on where AI accelerates vs. where human judgment must remain; working-level legal-process familiarity (subpoenas, warrants, preservation requests); strong written communication and ability to brief government and senior stakeholders; US citizenship required; ability to obtain public trust may be required.
Nice-to-have: crypto or on-chain experience. Fully remote, US-based, with 15–25% travel unevenly distributed.
